Yeah, I still exist. Sorry I fell of the face of the planet for a couple months. Work (and just life in general, tbh) has been kicking my ass, but I’m back.
I definitely get stuck in a makeup rut sometimes (helloooo warm-toned smoky eye, peach cheeks and nude lip). One of my favorite things to do when this happens is getting inspiration from my favorite makeup artists and beauty influencers. The internet is vast, guys, I know. That’s why I’ve rounded up a few of my absolute favorite makeup artists and influencers who I think will help inspire you as well!
Jordan Liberty’s work is consistently some of my favorite. He works with skin so well. The base makeup is nearly undetectable – contour, bronzer, blush and highlight all looks effortless, and natural. He does the makeup for a lot of Anastasia Beverly Hills’ campaigns, and I always love the looks he achieves. His YouTube channel is also one of my favorites. He’s a no-bullshit kind of artist and isn’t afraid to poke fun at a lot of the trends we frequently see in the beauty community. He has a variety of videos on his channel featuring models with a range of different skintones, as well as models with more mature skin. I love his to-the-point style and he has amazing skills.

Fiona Stiles is a celebrity makeup artist who has also created her own makeup line, Fiona Stiles Beauty. In addition to making up the faces of celebrities like Chrissy Teigen, Lily Collins, and Gabrielle Union, she also does a lot of editorial looks. She really works with clients’ natural beauty and unique features and helps bring them out. Some products from her makeup line are still available on Ulta.com, but I believe she is revamping the whole line, so stay tuned. I’m always interested in makeup lines created by artists, because, well…they know what’s up.
If you’re into natural makeup looks and radiant, glowing, healthy skin, you simply must follow Hayley Kassel. She does editorial, commercial and beauty work, but my favorite looks of her are always her more natural looks. She has a way of making skin look radiant and flawless while still looking real. Her YouTube channel features tutorials recreating her looks, though my attempts will never look as beautiful as hers, but whatever. Check her out!

When I’m scrolling through my Instagram feed, I know when I see work by Danessa Myricks before I even see her username. This woman is incredible. She is both an artist and a businesswoman – she started her company, Danessa Myricks Beauty, and focuses on creating products for women of all different skin tones. As with the other artists I’ve mentioned thus far, Danessa’s ability to enhance people’s natural beauty and radiance is mesmerizing. She is also a talented photographer, and takes most of the photos of her work herself. Honestly, I don’t know if there’s anything this woman can’t do.

Okay, I mean…just look at those photos. LOOK at that Stranger Things I’ve been following Alexandra for a while now because of her amazing artistry. She’s a true artist (she went to art school) and it’s clear she’s got some insane talent. She has the ability to do everything from incredibly avant-garde, editorial looks to natural, every day makeup. She also has a YouTube channel where she posts every week with tutorials on her stunning looks, reviews, and more. Her reviews are super honest, which I so appreciate in a world of ads and sponsorships. She also seems super cool and I want to be her friend.

I follow Mariah for a variety of reasons. First of all, she seems super cool. She’s laid-back, funny and kinda weird and I feel like we could be friends in real life. She’s very articulate and smart, and I find her reviews to be extremely helpful, descriptive and honest. It’s clear that she puts a lot of thought and effort into her videos – a lot of her content is unique and very educational. She’s also gorgeous and has the best brows.

I love following Alissa. Firstly and obviously, she’s absolutely stunning. Like, woah. Geez. She’s an incredibly talented and dedicated artist. She has hooded eyes, like me, so I love watching her tutorials because she includes tips and techniques for my eye shape. Her videos are so wonderfully edited and thorough, it’s clear that putting out quality content is important to her. She does fun videos, like “Mystery Makeup Monday”, where she spins a wheel and chooses random colors to create a look with. She’s thoughtful, creative, and inspiring.

I could go on and on about my favorite artists and influencers, but I’ll reign it in. Hopefully you’ve found at least one artist to follow who will teach and inspire you. I may do posts like this every few months, as I’m constantly finding new artists to follow. Who are some of your favorite artists/influencers and why? Until next time!
