I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been feeling especially sparkly lately. I don’t know if it’s because it’s my birthday on Tuesday (send cake plz) or what, but I’ve been having fun playing with my makeup more on a day-to-day basis. I’ve been straying from my usual warm smoky eye and delving into color, glitter and lashes (during the day!) and I’ll tell you what – it rules.
Recently, I treated myself to something I’ve been lusting after ever since they were released. I bought myself one of the new(ish) Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadows ($24.00 USD). Spoiler alert: they’re fucking amazing.
I was putting off buying them because they’re $24.00 for 0.153 oz of product and, well, mama’s not rollin’ in the dough, YA FEEL ME?! Good thing I have no self control and bought them anyway, because, my God they are beautiful. I bought the shade Rose Gold Retro and it is just an all-around stunner.
This picture does not do it justice, people. Rose Gold Retro is rose gold (duh) with silver glitter. I think what makes these liquid eyeshadows so wonderful is the formula. They’re super smooth and lightweight and they dry down quickly. I have experienced zero creasing (!!!), though I’ve always worn an eyeshadow primer under them. There is a tiny bit of glitter fallout if you do any blending of shadows on top of them, but there would be little to no fallout if you applied the product on its own. I obviously hooked you guys up with a tutorial using this baby, so let’s get to it, shall we?
There are 10 shades on the Stila website – I love myself for buying Rose Gold Retro because it’s incredible but I also hate myself because now I want them all. In case you couldn’t tell already, I highly recommend them. Did I mention my birthday is on Tuesday? If you wanna, I don’t know, send the rest of the shades my way I wouldn’t be mad. Just saying.
