It’s almost Thanksgiving, which means the holidays are almost upon us. I much prefer giving gifts to receiving them, but I like to create a little mental holiday wishlist for when my loved ones ask what I’d like. So here it is: my holiday wishlist for 2017! May this list help you on your quest to getting the perfect gift for someone special in your life. I’ve created other gift guides in the past, so check those out if you need more ideas!
1. L’Occitane Limited Edition Hand Cream ($12, Sephora)
My hands are literally always dry. And not just dry – they’re always ashy, scaly, cracking, etc. Very cute. I manage a restaurant/bar, but I often hop behind the bar and let me tell you, dipping my hands in soapy water over and over is not conducive to having beautiful, moisturized hands.
L’Occitane hand cream is moisturizing without being greasy, smells amazing and feels luxurious. This limited edition packaging is too cute and I think this would make the perfect stocking stuffer. Reptile hands, be gone.
2. Star Pullover Sweater ($98, Madewell)
Madewell makes some of my favorite sweaters, and I am in love with this one. It’s wool with gold chenille stars that add a cool-girl vibe. AND – Madewell is offering 25% off your entire purchase with the code DONTSTRESS through November 26th. That also goes for gift cards, which is amazing. So, get on it.
3. Tarte Tartelette Toasted Palette ($46, Dermstore)
Okay, let me start off by saying that I’m well aware that I don’t need this palette. I’m sure if my boyfriend sees this he’ll be like, “You have all of these colors already”. And maybe I have similar colors, sure, but this palette is so me. It’s basically me in palette form. Creamy blendable mattes, rich warm shimmers, YES, PLEASE. The palette is available on Tarte.com, Ulta, and Sephora, but I linked Dermstore above. The palette is 25% off with the code GIVE until November 23rd. Dermstore carries a lot of great brands and products that you can use the code on, including Jouer, Dr. Brandt, Briogeo, and beautyblender, so take advantage of that!
4. Nutri Ninja Pro Blender ($52.51, Amazon)
This is my lame adult wishlist item. I used to have one of these Ninja blenders when I was living in NYC and I didn’t bring it with me when I moved to LA for some reason. I’m generally a busy person and I spend most of my time outside of my apartment, whether it be spending time with my boyfriend/friends, at work, the gym, etc. I don’t cook at home nearly as much as I should, and I definitely don’t take the time to prepare vegetables every day. One of the easiest ways for me to get my veggies in was making a green smoothie. Instead of shelling out $7 after a workout at my gym for a smoothie, I’d be much better off making them at home. I like that it comes with lids that allow you to take smoothies on the go, so this baby has made its way onto my wishlist.
5. Tassel Ball Earrings ($24.50, J. Crew)
I haven’t given into the tassel trend yet, but I think I’m finally ready. I love the vibrant red of these earrings – they would look gorgeous with an otherwise neutral outfit for a pop of color. The price point is great too, and psst, J. Crew is currently offering 40% off your entire purchase with the code THANKU through November 26th. Get yo gifts!
6. Alo Yoga Multi Legging ($120, Alo Yoga)
Having cute workout clothes makes me want to work out more, plain and simp. I’m obsessed with the gorgeous blush color of these leggings from Alo Yoga. Are they unnecessarily expensive? Absolutely. Do I still want them? Absolutely.
7. Steve Madden Gaze Booties (currently on sale for $69.96, Nordstrom)
I rarely buy myself new clothes or shoes. Sure, I’ll buy new eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks and skincare. But replace my boots that are falling apart? Nah, they’re fine. I think the look of sock booties like this is so cute, but I don’t own any. I have black leather booties (yes, they’re falling apart), but nothing like this. The suede looks so chic, and I can see these styled with a mini skirt and cute sweater. But will I buy them for myself? Of course not.
8. Stephanie Necklace ($84, Miranda Frye)
As far as jewelry goes, I’m a minimalist girl. I honestly can’t have nice things because I always lose them. I’m convinced there’s some other dimension where all of my missing earrings have gone to taunt me. Miranda Frye makes such gorgeous pieces that definitely fit my style. They’re of great quality, but aren’t so expensive they’ll break the bank (still expensive for me, tbh). I love the simplicity of this necklace and I love how dainty the pendant is. This is a timeless necklace that would make a great layering piece for other jewelry.
9. Rebecca Minkoff Je T’aime Convertible Leather Crossbody Bag ($295, Nordstrom)
Fun fact: I don’t know when I last got a new bag. Seriously. I think the last time I purchased myself a new purse was in college, and let me tell you, I’m no spring chicken – I’ve been out of a college for a few years now. I was gifted a beautiful bag a year or two out of college, but since then…nope, nothing new. Since I rarely add new bags to my wardrobe, I look for bags that will stand the test of time – both in quality and appearance. I have two Rebecca Minkoff bags already, but I really love this one. It’s slightly structured, has both a crossbody chain and handle, is a good size, aaaaand it’s black. I could definitely get another decade out of this bag, at least.
10. A MF’ing massage (price varies)
If you know me, you know my back is always 100 types of f*cked up. My knots have knots. Those knots also have knots. My back is what I like to call “crunchy”. The spa I’ve linked, Dtox Day Spa, is the place I received one of the greatest massages of my life. My best friend bought me a massage there for my birthday a couple years ago and I still dream of it. A massage is another thing I never treat myself to but desperately need. I don’t know why I like to torture myself.
And there you have it! Ten things I would be more than happy to receive this holiday season. But, I’m going to be lame here for a moment so excuse me, I don’t really need anything. I am so lucky to have a roof over my head, a job so I can support myself, health, an amazing family, the best boyfriend in the world, and the greatest group of friends on the planet. The older I get, the more I realize that experiences and relationships are what make life rich.
